Building-to-Grid Integration for More Efficient, Sustainable, and Resilient Energy Systems
There is increasing pressure to decarbonize energy. One key area for innovation lies with decreasing building energy consumption, in conjunction with renewable energy generation and storage integration. Taking maximum advantage of onsite renewable energy requires a deeper level of interaction between buildings and the grid. This new relationship entails a more digital and dynamic coordination between the building’s renewable energy source and grid operations, where energy is exchanged with each other as needed to maintain balance and resiliency of the larger grid. This course provides commercial and mission critical building owners and operators with a high-level overview of the building-to-grid integration concept, describes the key drivers for this evolution, as well as four key enablers that will lead to increased adoption in the coming years.
